This is just a quick little haiku I wrote, about the pine cones falling from the trees outside my flat. I’ve been busy collecting them, they make wonderful Christmas decorations! Hope you enjoy the poem. πŸ™‚

Pine cones

Soft thuds on the ground

as pine cones drop from above

still more yet to fall.

  1. Simple and beautiful =)

  2. Beautiful haiku Becky, and appreciation of the beauty in the simple things.

I have been making decorations from pine cones for years, first with my children, then with my mum when she was pursuing a hobby of flower arranging, and now Im gathering them again to make decorations with grandchildren. They are a little young to do it yet but my pine cones are ready for them when they are! πŸ™‚

    • Thank you Christine, you know how much I love the simple things πŸ˜€ I made pine cone decorations with my mum too, it’s become a tradition to make some more every year! Sometimes we burn them on our woodburner too and they let off the most incredible scent πŸ™‚ x

      • I will have to try burning some. Ive never done that! πŸ™‚ xx

      • Yes do! For me it’s the smell of Christmas πŸ™‚ x

      • 😊 Lovely xx

      • πŸ˜€ x

  3. I love the nostalgic feel to your photo. Lovely Haiku too Becky.:)

    • Thank you, autumn and spring are my favourite times of year so it’s easy to get inspired. Thanks again! πŸ™‚ x
